Timid and Bold

A timid and bold Saturday morning
The ocean outside my window is a calm, vivid blue, almost blending with the sky except for moody stripes of green and the odd early-morning swimmer splashing in the shallow surf. The minute South Floridian breeze pebbles the water, drawing the faintest of ripples on the surface. Nature has power-washed my apartment windows clean, and I observe the scene through barely-there glass.
I am behind my laptop, coffee mug a spill-safe distance from my elbow. I am ready to create. What more could I want?
Days like this beg me to exhale and lean in to idleness. They also demand that I perk up and make the most of these off-duty hours. I am accustomed to this feeling of being diametrically opposed, as I suspect many of us are.
Days like this, we must be timid and bold.
